![]() The fingerprint reader is the real star of the update and it works so well now - it almost makes me upset how slow and haphazardly it worked before. Is the Android 13 update worth it? So far, I have to say yes, big time. Otherwise recovery mode would at least still work. But I couldn't even enter recovery mode (my debloat would have 0 effect on recovery mode) and after reading other user experiences that had not done a debloat, I seems to instead be poor update functions. I believed at first that the reason my update caused these issues was because I had debloated the phone through adb, removing all the T-Mo apps and a lot of the junk that google tries to force on you. I believe there should be a way to recover data from a backup of the userdata.bin you can obtain through QFIL, but I haven't had a chance to dig into it much and there's no info on how to do so on XDA or here. However, this update should not be something that bricks phones, so some blame has to be placed on LG/TMO for releasing an update that has bricked a good 50% of users' phones. I personally lost the last 6 months of photos and videos, which is pretty devastating but again 10000% my fault for not backing up. Unfortunately this method WILL delete ALL of your data that is not on your SD card. I wanted to share a quick tutorial to help others fix their bricked V60 after the update. The way to fix the brick is to boot to qualcomm QDLoader 9008 mode and use FireHose to wipe the userdata partition and flash the engineering bootloader. Neither LGUP or adb would recognize the phone once booted, and I couldn't even get the phone into recovery mode! So QFIL/FireHose is the only alternative. I didn't expect a full 13 update and all other updates have gone perfectly well, no issues at all, so I just went ahead and updated without doing a full backup (In the eternal words of Julia Roberts: "Big mistake. It would only boot to black screen with flashing and disappearing navigation buttons, but no other controls or display. However, like many others, the update soft bricked my phone. Howdy! So, like many others, I woke up with a system update pending for my V60 (firstly, amazing that LG kept their promise with updates for this phone, it's one of my favorite phones and I deeply miss LG's V series, having had a V10, V20, V30, V35, V50, and still using my V60).
